About Schell Creek Construction:
Schell Creek Construction is a premier builder known for high-integrity projects and uncompromising quality. We believe that the best leaders are those who stay close to the work. We aren’t looking for a "clipboard superintendent" who manages from the truck; we need a seasoned professional who takes total ownership of the job site and leads by example.

The Role:
Construction Superintendent As a Construction Superintendent, you are the primary authority on the job site. You are responsible for the successful execution of the project from mobilization through close-out. You will manage the flow of work, the safety of the personnel, and the quality of the finished product.

The "Schell Creek" Standard:
This is a hands-on leadership position. While your primary focus is coordination and management, Schell Creek Superintendents are expected to roll up their sleeves. Whether it’s assisting with a critical layout, troubleshooting a framing issue, or jumping in to help the crew during a high-pressure deadline, you are a "boots on the ground" leader who does whatever it takes to keep the project moving forward safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities:
Site Operations & Leadership
  • Daily Management: Direct all field personnel and subcontractors to ensure project milestones are met. Maintain a highly organized, clean, and professional job site at all times.
  • Hands-On Participation: Lead from the front by assisting with physical labor, technical trades (carpentry, concrete, etc.), and site problem-solving as needed.
  • Logistics & Staging: Plan and manage site logistics, including material deliveries, equipment staging, and temporary utilities to minimize downtime.
  • Reporting: Regularly update Project Managers on field progress, material needs, and any potential deviations from the project plan.
Project Management & Administration
  • Schedule Oversight: Develop, manage, and update the 2-week look-ahead schedules. Identify potential bottlenecks early and implement corrective actions.
  • Documentation: Maintain meticulous daily logs, including weather conditions, manpower counts, work performed, and site visitors.
  • RFI & Submittals: Review blueprints and specifications deeply; identify discrepancies early and initiate Requests for Information (RFIs) to prevent rework.
  • Meetings: Lead weekly on-site subcontractor coordination meetings to review safety, schedule, and quality expectations.
Quality & Safety Compliance
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct "first-work" inspections for every trade to ensure the standard is set correctly from day one. Manage the punch-list process throughout the project, not just at the end.
  • Safety Culture: Act as the primary Safety Officer. Conduct daily tool-box talks, enforce OSHA compliance, and ensure all workers have the proper PPE and training.
  • Inspections: Coordinate with local building officials and third-party inspectors to ensure all work is permitted and approved.
Qualifications:
  • Experience: 3 or more years of experience in a construction supervision role.
  • Technical Mastery: Strong ability to read and interpret complex architectural, structural, and MEP drawings.
  • The "Working" Factor: Must have a background in the trades (e.g., Journeyman-level carpentry or concrete) and a willingness to perform physical work alongside the crew.
  • Software Skills: Proficiency with project management software (Procore, Buildertrend, or similar), digital blueprints (Bluebeam), and standard email/spreadsheets.
  • Soft Skills: Exceptional communication skills and the ability to resolve conflicts between subcontractors or vendors professionally.
  • Requirements: Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record; OSHA 30 certification preferred.
Why Join Schell Creek?
  • A Culture for Builders: We value leaders who lead from the front. If you take pride in being a "boots on the ground" superintendent, you will thrive in our environment.
  • Uncompromising Integrity: Join a team that prioritizes high-quality craftsmanship and honest communication above all else.
  • Competitive Compensation & Benefits: * Competitive salary based on experience.
    • Health, dental, and vision insurance.
    • Paid time off and holidays.
    • IRA with company match.
  • Growth & Development: We are committed to providing opportunities for career growth and professional development within the company.
