Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled Controller with a background in the Trades in the accounting department to join our team. The ideal candidate will combine their expertise in bookkeeping/Accounting with practical knowledge of construction processes and terminology. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
• Process invoices, purchase orders, and expense reports
• Reconcile bank statements and credit card transactions
• Prepare financial reports and statements
• Assist with payroll processing and related tasks
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records
• Work closely with project managers and contractors to ensure accurate project costing
• Provide support during audits and tax filings

Requirements:

• An Accounting/Bookkeeping degree or similar experience
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in Bookkeeping/Accounting
• Background in trades or construction industry 
• Proficiency in accounting software Sage 300
• Strong understanding of construction processes and terminology
• Excellent numerical and analytical skills
• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
